Courses

Jamie Stedman works with individuals and forward-thinking organisations to deliver: online Mental Health First Aid courses accredited by Mental Health First Aid Australia; Mental Health Incursion Programs for school aged children; Mental Health Programs for Educators; and tailored workshops for organisations to facilitate positive change in the areas of resilience, self-management, self-care, dealing with difficult people, stress management, overcoming mindset blocks, and other areas of workplace culture enhancement.

Each year 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness. Almost 3 out of 4 people have experienced stress that affects their physical and mental health.

The following courses and workshops are offered online or face-to-face throughout Central West NSW, and online via Zoom Australia-wide and internationally.

Standard Mental Health First Aid Course

The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis.

Mental Health First Aid Tertiary Course

The Mental Health First Aid Tertiary Course is adapted from the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course for adults which teaches students in tertiary settings how to assist a fellow student developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The course teaches tertiary students how to assist a peer who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, using case-studies, videos and resources tailored to their learning needs.

Mental Health First Aid Workplace Course

The Mental Health First Aid Workplace Course has been adapted from the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course for adults. In this informative and practical course you will learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide mental health first aid in a crisis situation using a practical, evidence-based action plan. This course focuses on the workplace and provides relevant information and tailored scenarios and exercises that will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to provide initial mental health first aid to assist colleagues, clients, and other workplace contacts who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis, and how to connect people needing assistance to existing workplace supports and external professional help.

Jamie is brilliant at what he does and I have found his approach is calm, real and genuinely caring.
